Man injured by knife after stopping to help elderly woman with yard work, police say

ELKHART, Ind.—A man suffered an apparent knife injury after stopping to help an elderly woman with yard work, according to the Elkhart Police Department.

On April 24, police took a battery report from a man who said he was walking down Michigan Street when he stopped to help an elderly woman with yard work.

The victim told police the woman’s husband came outside and they got into a fight, reports said.

According to police, the victim sustained a non-life threatening injury on his leg that appeared to be from a knife.

Police did not release the identities of the victim or a possible suspect.
