Man arrested for assault and resisting officer

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – A man was arrested for assaulting and resisting a South Bend police officer early Sunday morning.

Officer Justin Gorny responded to a call at the 1600 block of West Longley Avenue in South Bend around 1:30 a.m.

Gorny arrested Jason Peters, 35, for the following charges:

  • Battery resulting in bodily injury of an officer
  • Resisting law enforcement
  • Falsifying information

Peters was booked into St. Joseph County Jail.

This incident is under investigation.
