March declared as “Restaurant Month“ in Berrien County
ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. – A local business that delivers balloon creations for special occasions is doing it again for a community isolated by the pandemic.
Fun by the Yard, a balloon business in South Bend, usually creates balloon displays for things like corporate events and birthday celebrations but decided to take their business to a local senior living center to spread a little love to residents who haven’t been able to see loved ones because of COVID-19 regulations.
The company started a fundraiser called “Adopt a Grandparent” in which participants could raise money to gift senior residents a huggable balloon figure and a personal note.
In just five days, all 100 seniors at the Waterford at Edison Lakes living facility had been “adopted,” and Fun by the Yard delivered the huggable friends to residents on Tuesday.
Anyone interested in donating to this fundraiser can sign up here.
