SOUTH BEND, Ind. – La Casa de Amistad was chosen as one of 100 impact projects for the “100 Hometowns” program celebrating Lowe’s centennial.

Through the program, the home improvement company will help rebuild areas in need by completing 100 projects across 36 states.

La Casa de Amistad was nominated by community members and chosen out of more than 2,200 submissions.

With the $100,000, La Casa de Amistad will be able to rehabilitate the outdoor spaces, landscaping, play spaces, and family gathering area in its new location on South Michigan Street in South Bend.

“We are beyond amazed by the generosity of the Lowe’s team on the national and local levels, said Sam Centellas, Executive Director of La Casa. “On behalf of those we serve, we are humbled and honored to receive this special gift to make our South Bend location a world-class Latino Community Center.”
