DOWAGIAC, Mich. --  Firefighters suited up to test out their skills during ice rescue training, according to Sister Lakes Fire Department officials.

The Dowagiac Fire Department hosted an ice rescue training event with firefighters from Sister Lakes, Wayne Township and Indian Lakes.

Firefighters were put to the test where they braved frigid water temperatures to prepare for one of the worst scenarios rescuers may encounter – victims falling through ice into frigid waters.
