High waves and dangerous currents expected for Monday and Tuesday

The National Weather Service is reporting that all of Michiana’s beaches will face high waves and dangerous currents on Monday and Tuesday.

Waves can be up to four to seven feet high on Monday. A high swim risk has been given for the area.

On Tuesday, they will subside to two to three feet. A moderate swim risk is expected for the day.

Life-threatening waves are expected for Silver Beach, Warren Dunes, New Buffalo, Long Beach and Michigan City until Tuesday. Officials are asking that you do not go into the water and stay away from piers.
