Parents of teen murder victim Breana Rouhselang, South Bend Athletic League holding teen self-defense courses

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The parents of slain teen Breana Rouhselang and the Pal program have organized free self-defense courses for students in eighth grade through 12th grade.

17-year-old murder victim Breana Rouhselang was killed in December and now her father and step-mother are looking to prevent future tragedies in the community through free self-defense classes.

Organizers hope the event will teach teens how to be proactive in terms of their own personal safety.

Registration for April 2 and April 3 is open with space limited to 35 students per class.The courses will be taught by the South Bend Athletic League.

The event will be held from 5-6:30 p.m. at the Beacon at 4210 Lincoln Way West.
