SOUTH BEND, Ind -- The annual Four Winds Invitational returns to South Bend this summer from August 12 – 14.

The event has been taking place since 2012 and giving back to the community has played a major part in the event being held in Michiana.

Sponsors include the Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians and the Four Winds Casino.

The Four Winds Invitational is part of the Epson Tour, on the Road to the LPGA.

This year, proceeds will go to the Beacon Children’s Hospital, for a new quad cab NICU transport, used to transport premature babies.

“This not only benefits the golfers, but it also benefits the community in which the proceeds from this event will directly go to Beacon and the children's hospital and helping purchase equipment. And they have done that over the past 10 years,” said Tribal Chairwoman of the Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Rebecca Richards.

“This event has been huge. Children's hospitals notoriously do not make a lot of money. And so we rely on philanthropy within the community to help support initiatives and equipment purchases, that we need to provide higher levels of care for the kids that we serve,” said Beacon Health System Director of Women and Children Services Jen Tonkovich.

Organizers are still searching for volunteers to come out to the South Bend Country Club for the Four Winds Invitational.
