Fire Department responds to house fire at S. Sheridan Street in South Bend

SOUTH BEND, IN. – The South Bend Fire Department responded to a fire at 112 S. Sheridan Street Monday morning after a call from a passerby. 

Engine Six arrived to the scene to find flames and smoke venting through windows at the southeast corner of the house.

Fire fighters entered the house, but were unable to locate the occupant when a search was conducted.

Neighbors reported that the occupant was unaccounted for during the fire.

The fire fighters successfully extinguished the fire, and shortly afterwards the occupant was accounted for with no injuries reported.

The cause of the fire is unknown and remains under investigation.
