Final 6 a.m. sunrises of 2022 this week

On Sunday, August 21, the sun will rise during the 6 o'clock hour for the final time in 2022.

Days are getting shorter, and that means a later sunrise each morning, as well as an earlier sunset. During the middle to end of August, we lose about two-and-a-half minutes of daylight every day.

Starting Monday, August 22, the sun will rise at 7 a.m. or later. Here are the sunrise times for this week.

As for sunsets, those are still happening after 8 p.m. this month. The first sunset in the 7 p.m. hour is in mid-September.
