Family member says Eric Logan's son injured in July 6 shooting

SOUTH BEND, Ind.—A family member of Eric Logan, who was shot and killed by a South Bend Police officer on June 16, says that Logan’s 19-year-old son was shot in the leg on Saturday.

According to police records, 19-year-old Eric Logan Jr. sustained a gunshot wound to the leg on July 6 in the area of Lincolnway West and Lawndale around 2:55 a.m.

Police say they were initially called out for a hit and run and when they arrived, people scattered and Logan came out from behind a building with the leg injury. 

The elder Eric Logan's brother, Tyree Bonds, has confirmed that the 19-year-old is Eric Logan’s son.

A family spokesperson said Monday afternoon Logan has been released from the hospital and is doing well.
