Driver transported via Air Care after hit and run crash

CASS COUNTY, Mich. -- The Cass County Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported hit and run in the area of Sunset Blvd. and Terrie Shore Rd. in Porter Township early Sunday morning.

Emergency services located a 28-year-old male on the side of the road upon their arrival.

The victim of the crash was transported via Air Care to South Bend Memorial for treatment and further observation.

Deputies were later able to locate a vehicle they believe to be involved in the crash at a residence.

The driver has been identified as a 58-year-old male from White Pigeon.

His name is being withheld pending arraignment on the charges.

Seat belt use is unknown and intoxicating substances may have been a factor in the crash.
