Driver killed in single vehicle rollover crash

FULTON COUNTY, Ind. -- A driver was killed when his car left the roadway and rolled over several times, according to the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office.

Just before 9 p.m. Tuesday evening, a deputy was traveling west on SR 114 when the deputy saw tire marks and debris from a possible crash.

The deputy located a 2005 Pontiac that had left the roadway, rolled over several times and came to a rest in a field, according to the sheriff’s office.

The driver of the vehicle was extricated by the fire department, then flown by helicopter to the hospital.

The driver, 56-year-old Gary Bowers, died at the hospital.

Deputies say speed and alcohol appear to be contributing factors, but the crash remains under investigation.
