Douglas house fire caused by a 3-year-old

OSCEOLA, Ind. – No one injured in a house fire that was started by a 3-year-old playing with a lighter, according to Penn Fire Department. 

The fire happened on the 10000 block of Douglas Road Friday morning.

Penn Fire, Clay, and Mishawaka Fire Departments responded to the fire that occurred at 10:40 a.m.

When emergency units arrived, they found a bedroom on fired and extinguished it quickly.

Douglas Road was shut down at Ash Road because of a house fire in the 10000 block of Douglas Road in Osceola.

Penn FD wants to remind residents to keep lighters and fire-starters out of the reach of children.
