SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- A documentary about Father Theodore Hesburgh opens Friday in South Bend. The documentary offers a unique glimpse of more than 50 years of American history through the eyes of Father Hesburgh.
Hesburgh will be shown at AMC South Bend 16 at 7 p.m. Friday night.
The filmmakers spoke with ABC57 about documenting Hesburgh's life.
“As a little bit of a skeptic, I wanted to see for myself if he was the real deal. If all of this talk and if all of this recognition he has received over his life time, if he had earned that. And I can tell you from the bottom of my heart, he truly has. He will go down as one of America’s great leaders," director Patrick Creadon said.
“This piece and this story are as timely as ever. When the final credits roll, what I want for people is to be inspired with what one man did with his life, but also inspired with what they can do with their own life," producer Jerry Barca said.
