Deputies investigating shooting in Caldwell Lake area

KOSCIUSKO COUNTY, Ind. -- Deputies are investigating a shooting that happened in the Caldwell Lake area late Thursday night, according to the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Office.

Warsaw Police were called to the 700 block of S. Buffalo Street around 11:30 p.m. and located 38-year-old Andres Garcia with gunshot wounds to his left arm and abdomen.

The man who transported Garcia to the scene, 46-year-old Pedro Macias, told police he had been struck in the head with a pistol.

Garcia was taken by helicopter to a local hospital in critical condition.

Macias told police the shooting happened in the Caldwell Lake area, so the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Office responded.

Deputies located a firearm and additional witnesses at the scene of the shooting, according to reports.
