Deputies identify driver killed in crash on CR687

VAN BUREN COUNTY, Mich. -- Deputies have identified the driver who died at the hospital after crashing his car into a tree Wednesday morning, according to the Van Buren County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies were dispatched to the 7000 block of CR 687 in Geneva Township around 10:30 a.m. Wednesday.

The investigation revealed 30-year-old Corey Mashburn was traveling southbound on CR 687 when his Cadillac left the roadway and struck a tree.

Mashburn, of South Haven, was taken to Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo where he was later pronounced deceased.

The crash remains under investigation.
