Deputies arrest driver whose BAC was nearly 5 times the legal limit

MARSHALL COUNTY, Ind. -- A driver who was slumped over behind the wheel was arrested with a BAC of nearly 5 times the legal limit, according to the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office.

Around 10:30 a.m. Thursday, dispatch received a call about a man slumped over in a vehicle that was in the roadway.

Richard Urbina was given standard field sobriety tests, then transported to the hospital.

After obtaining a search warrant, deputies were able to obtain Urbina’s BAC.

Deputies said Urbina’s BAC was nearly 5 times the legal limit for alcohol.

After he was cleared by medical staff, Urbina was taken to the jail on preliminary charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated .15% or higher, OWI prior conviction and resisting law enforcement.
