Concord High School holds blood drive to help with shortage

ELKHART, Ind. – Concord High School is holding a blood drive with American Red Cross to combat blood shortages.

The Blood drive will be on March 6 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Concord High School.

American Red Cross stated that they are in critical need of type O blood back in January.

The organization says that with the combination of weather and flu season, there were far less donations than usual.

This can be an issue for patients needing medical treatments, especially in emergency situations, as there is a lack of blood to allow treatment.

Anyone can sign up for Concord’s blood drive ahead of time by clicking ‘give blood’ on the Red Cross website and entering in the zip code ‘46517.’
