City of Sturgis hiring for City Manager position

STURGIS, Mich. -- The city of Sturgis is currently seeking candidates for the position of City Manager, which is appointed by a nine-member City Commission.

City Managers are responsible for the day-to-day activities of the city, and tasked with providing overall direction of city staff, management, administration and the operation of city departments.

According to the application, candidates must be experienced with finance, budgeting, intergovernmental relations, infrastructure management, union managements and more.

While a master's degree is preferred, candidates must also have a four-year degree relating to public/governmental service, and at least five years of municipal management experience.

Competitive salary is available, with a range between $120,000 and $140,000.
