Chicago man charged in murder of his aunt in Michigan City

MICHIGAN CITY, Ind. -- Michigan City Police have arrested a Chicago man in the murder of his aunt, 68-year-old Doris Hull.

On Sunday, August 9, Hull was found unconscious at a home on Ashland Avenue in the Eastport neighborhood.

Hull had suspected stab and cut wounds to her chest and neck, reports said.

Hull was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The investigation led to a murder charge being filed against Alontae Pierre Hood, 30, of Chicago.

Police said Hood was Hull's nephew.

Hood is being held at the La Porte County Jail on a $1 million cash only bond.
