GRANGER, Ind. -- Beacon Health System is set to begin construction on a new state of the art hospital on Beacon Parkway.
Beacon Granger Hospital will have a full emergency room with 11 beds and high-tech diagnostic equipment.
It will mostly serve out-patient cases, but will also have 8 in-patient beds.
Beacon's CEO Kreg Gruber says patients in that area are demanding easier access to medical treatment.
"What we're finding is consumers and patients want somewhere that's closer to home, easy to get in and out of, efficient in the diagnoses and treatment they need, and they can get on with their lives," Gruber said.
Construction on the $25 million facility will begin this summer.
It's expected to open in the summer of 2019.
