MISHAWAKA, Ind. -- Outdoor activities like beach volleyball are being used by local businesses to attract crowds of people looking for fun.
Outpost Sports is where people can come to enjoy the evening, with hours of fun playing sand volleyball.
"What we have is the best beach sand. We have quality music, quality lighting," said Outpost Sports Owner Steve Anderson.
Anderson says the sand comes straight from Silver Beach in Saint Joseph, Michigan.
The real sand fits into the authenticity of Outpost Sports, that’s been around for over 30 years bringing adult fun to Michiana.
"I’d say most of the people are young adults. Going into 30’s and 40’s but all ages come out here," Anderson said.
One night per week kids get their shot at playing sand volleyball, while parents wait and enjoy the upper deck view.
Anderson said he’s been hosting volleyball for 34 years but he’s been coaching the game even longer.
"I started coaching girls’ volleyball in 1979," Anderson said.
The leagues take place at Outpost Sports weekdays from 6 p.m. - 10 p.m.
