Temperatures Tuesday were warm once again across the area. Some spots even reached the 70s before afternoon rain capped temperatures for the day.
Cooler temperatures are on the way for the rest of the week, leaving some to wonder (or worry) if this is the end of the 70-degree highs in Michiana.
Typically, the area's last taste of the 70s falls during the very end of October. However, there have been plenty of years when the 70s lasted well into November (and even a couple of times in December).
Temperatures won't plummet all that much to end October, even as a cold front moves through tonight. Highs should rebound back into the 60s by Friday.
The Climate Prediction Center has Michiana in a high probability to start November off warmer-than-normal, too. However, keep in mind that average highs are in the low 50s as the calendar changes.
So, while we could theoretically squeak out one more 70-degree day, the odds are not in our favor at this point.
