19-year-old shot in Elkhart, 15-year-old suspect taken into custody

ELKHART, Ind. – Elkhart Police have arrested a 15-year-old who allegedly shot a 19-year-old Wednesday afternoon.
Police were called to an alleyway in the 1300 block of Benham Avenue to investigate a shooting with injuries.
When they arrived, they found a 19-year-old with gunshot wounds. He was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Officers and detectives quickly developed a suspect and located him, a 15-year-old, in a nearby apartment.
He was taken into custody without incident.
