Maci Tetrick, Meteorologist

Maci is excited to be living in South Bend after growing up in Indianapolis. This is her first job after graduating from Purdue University (Boiler Up!). She received her degree in Atmospheric Science, with a minor in Communication. An Indiana native, Maci has lived through many types of weather events. Her love of the weather grew from her love of animals and the environment.
While in college, Maci had the opportunity to study abroad twice. These travels took her to Fiji, Australia, India, Hong Kong, and Costa Rica. She experienced unique weather in each country. While in Australia, she experienced the devastating Cyclone Debbie. That's not something you get to see here in Indiana! During the monsoon season in India, she experienced extreme heat and heavy rainfall. Thankfully, the rain cleared up for one of her fondest memories: visiting an elephant sanctuary and helping take care of her favorite animals. Now, she has a goal of traveling to 30 countries before reaching age 30.
Maci is a former 10-year 4-H member, where she completed projects in Sewing, Foods, Forestry, Photography, and Llamas. She showed and trained an alpaca named Kronk. During college, Maci was a member of the Purduettes. She loved singing and performing for others with this group. Don't expect her to sing the weather, however!
Maci is excited to be joining ABC 57 and sharing the weather with her new community.
