ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind.—Thursday night friends, family and colleagues gathered at South Bend Orthopaedics for a vigil for Dr. Todd Graham.
Co-workers shared stories of the memorable doctor who became family for many.
“We’re here to honor him he was a loving caring person and he treated us all the same. No one was different from or better than the next. We have to start living for him. He lived and he would want us to continue to live,” says colleague Danielle Word.
Held in the parking lot Dr. Graham was killed, the vigil was about reclaiming the space with a positive message,
“Dr. Graham would not have wanted us to live in fear. What happened was a tragedy and just kind of reclaiming the peace here at SBO and the rehab center,” says colleague Cammi Howard.
The Graham family was emotional hearing stories about his work. Joking that because of HIPAA laws, the good doctor he was never told them how big of an impact his work left on his patients.
They also vowed their dedication to fighting the opioid epidemic once they have more time to grieve.
