Local realtor raped on the job - 4/25/17
The St. Joseph County Special Victims Unit is investigating the rape of a realtor who was preparing to show a home on N. Olive Street to a client on April 20. No arrests have been made.
Lakeshore HS freshman injured playing ‘ISIS Game’- 10/16/17
A Lakeshore High School freshman was cut with a knife while playing the "ISIS game" on school grounds. The freshman who was cut had a severed nerve in his hand and needed almost six hours of surgery. A police report was filed about the incident.
Three killed in crash on US20 in La Porte County - 3/17/17
Three people died in a crash involving a car and a semi on US20 near Rolling prairie. The crash happened March 17 around 7 a.m. The victims were identified as 22-year-old Judith Peachey, Rosalie Koehn and 17-year-old Lanie Nace. Peachey is from Goshen, Koehn and Nace are from Greensburg, Kansas.
Police release alert about child killer's release from jail- 1/30/17
The Long Beach Police Department in Michigan issued a press release warning residents that Richard Dobeski was going to be released from the jail. He had been convicted of child molestation and killing two children. He is also a registered sex offender.
Osceola baby fighting for his life, Metro Homicide investigating- 6/25/17
A 7-month-old was taken to Elkhart General Hospital with serious, suspicious injuries. The child was transferred to Riley Hospital in Indianapolis and died several days later. Isaiah Moutria, 20, has been charged with one count of neglect of a dependent causing death. Moutria was dating Keegan's mother.
Funeral set for two girls killed in hit and run- 8/29/17
Three people were injured and two were killed when a driver hit a group of five people who were walking near Beardsley and Cassopolis in Elkhart around 9 p.m. Saturday, August 26. Police release name, photo of suspect in fatal hit and run - 8/30/17
Investigators released the photo and name of a woman who was allegedly involved in a fatal crash on Vassar Avenue and O'Brien Street in South Bend on August 29. A 6-year-old was killed in the crash. Police said Reka Phillips was driving the car that struck an SUV, killing 6-year-old Maliyah Davis. She has not been located. If you have any information, please contact Crime Stoppers.

A woman in Elkhart woke up and found a stranger in her bathroom with her 5-year-old daughter. She woke up around 4 a.m. on Mother's Day to a loud noise coming from the bathroom. The man was arrested.
