Food Bank of Northwest Indiana receives 37,000 pounds of fresh bananas

MERRILLVILLE, Ind. -- 37,000 pounds of fresh bananas are ready to be distributed to those in need, according to the Food Bank of Northwest Indiana,

In a Facebook post, thousands of bananas are seen pictured, ready for distribution through the Mobile Marketplace service.

The Food Bank of Northwest Indiana offers a free food service, the Mobile Marketplace, which provides healthy foods to families and individuals around the region.

The food bank has a network of over 100 food pantries, soup kitchens and additional agencies.
