Suspected overdose in La Porte

LA PORTE, Ind. – La Porte Police responded to a man of an unconscious male laying in the roadway in the 200 block of Linden Avenue on Sunday.
Officers found the 24-year-old La Porte man conscious, but exhibiting very slow speech.
La Porte County EMS transported the man to La Porte Hospital for treatment.
The man’s family told police he and the man smoked synthetic marijuana earlier.
Drug paraphernalia and a substance that field tested positive for synthetic marijuana were located on the man.
A review of criminal charges has been forwarded to the La Porte County Prosecutor’s Office for review.
