Suspect arrested attempting to steal copper wire from AEP facility

BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. -- A 46-year-old man was arrested for allegedly stealing copper wire from an AEP facility in Lake Township, according to the Berrien County Sheriff's Department.

Baroda Lake Township Police contacted the Berrien County Sheriff's Department with assistance in an ongoing case of copper wire theft from an AEP facility.

Surveillance was set up on the property in Lake Township and just before 3 a.m. Monday, the suspect was caught allegedly stealing copper wire.

The 46-year-old man was charged with resisting arrest, larceny, possession of burglary tools, breaking and entering, possession of stolen property, and larceny from yards.

The suspect's name is being withheld pending arraignment.
