South Bend to prepare drivers for first day of school

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The City of South Bend will activate 28 school zone flashers to prepare drivers for the first day of school.

The testing will happen Monday and Tuesday, according to the city.

Crews will also check to make sure the equipment is working properly.

The city reminds drivers that even though school is not in session, drivers must obey the school zone speed limit when flashers are blinking.

If you see a flasher not working properly, report the issue to 311.
