SOUTH BEND, Ind. – On Tuesday, twice daily non-stop flights by United Airlines will begin at South Bend International Airport that travel to and from the New York/Newark Liberty International Airport.
United Airlines has also agreed to take create additional flights that coincide with Notre Dame’s Football schedule.
There will be flights traveling to Atlanta for the Georgia game in September and to Los Angeles for the game against Southern California as well as a flight to North Carolina for the Duke game.
Julie Curtis, a representative for the South Bend International Airport, says the flights will benefit avid Notre Dame fans.
“Any time fans can have a non-stop option, whether they’re traveling to an away game or coming in for a home game, it’s a really great thing and we’re excited to be able to offer that to both the Notre Dame fans and the competitors alike,” Curtis said.
United anticipates that there will be ten thousand more seats filled out this year compared to last year.
