South Bend Cubs look to regroup after tough series against the Loons

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The South Bend Cubs dropped the weekend series finale to the Great Lakes Loons on Sunday.

With the Cubs' rocky day behind the plate, the Loons were able to close out the final game 9-4.

According to the team's game statistics, the Cubs were led in runs by Brandon Hughes. Hughes had two runs in the game.

Starting Pitcher Jose Albertos had his hands full as he was trying to bring a weekend rally after the Cubs lost Saturday night's game 7-4.

The South Bend Cubs will have Monday off and then head on a six-game road trip on Tuesday.

The team will face the Cedar Rapids Kernels on Tuesday. First pitch is scheduled for 7:35 p.m.
