MISHAWAKA, Ind. - The Cave was packed on Tuesday night, and for good reason. Not only was it the opening round of sectional play, but the Cavemen were hosting rival Penn right off the bat.

After falling behind in the first half, the Kingsmen roared back due in large part to the play of junior point guard Drew Lutz. The Kingsmen held off a late Mishawaka rally to win 52-48.

Lutz ended the third quarter on a personal 8-0 run, and ended with 17 points, seven assists, three steals, and four blocks.

"[The goal was] playing hard on defense and let the offense come through defense. Just playing as a team," he said after the win. "They're so much fun to play with. It was just a great atmosphere and a good win."

Now Penn advances to play undefeated Riley in the sectional semifinal on Friday night, which coach Al Rhodes knows will be a tall task.

"Riley is an unbeatable team," he said, somewhat jokingly. "That's the bad part of winning tonight, is you're playing an unbeatable team."

The other semifinal game on Friday features Clay taking on Adams, who beat LaPorte.
