Patrol car with OWI suspect nearly hit by another OWI suspect

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. -- A woman who crashed her vehicle while allegedly driving drunk was being transported by a patrol car, which was nearly hit by another driver who was also allegedly driving drunk.

Early Saturday morning, Elkhart County Sheriff's Department responded to a vehicle crash in the area of CR8 and CR1.

The driver, 31-year-old Heather Tolley, submitted to a chemical breath test and it came back .097, deputies said.

While transporting Tolley to the jail, a vehicle driven by 39-year-old Michelle Frost was traveling in the area of CR7 and CR20 without headlights and nearly crashed in to the patrol vehicle.

Frost's BAC was .203 according to deputies.

Both women were taken to the Elkhart County Jail on preliminary charges of operating while intoxicated.
