One person dead after car accident in Berrien County

BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. – One person dead after car accident in Berrien County.

Lincoln Charter Township Police were investigating a fatal car accident on Monday afternoon.

The call came in around 12:11 p.m. and sent police to Red Arrow Hwy near Marquette Woods.

Investigators said that the accident was a near head-on collision between to vehicles.

A car driven by a 74 year-old woman was going north and then turned into the path of a southbound pick-up truck, according to police.

Officers found the 74 year-old woman unconscious at the scene. Medical treatment was given to the woman by responders but the she died due to her injuries.

The person driving the pick-up truck did not have any injuries.

Investigators said that alcohol and drugs do not appear to be factors in the accident.

Names of those involved are currently being kept private.
