One in serious condition following a head-on collision

BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. – Authorities were called to a serious accident resulting in injuries on Territorial Road west of Arent Road in Bainbridge Township.

Friday night at approximately 6:48 p.m. officers received a call regarding a head-on collision.

Police say 58-year-old Todd Kietzer of Hartford, Michigan was traveling eastbound in the westbound lane of Territorial Road when his vehicle  struck a second vehicle traveling westbound.

Paul Perez, 58, of Hartford was driving the second vehicle when police say he was struck head-on by Kietzer.

Kietzer was airlifted by Med Flight to Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo in serious condition.

Perez was taken by Pride Care Ambulance to Lakeland Hospital and is in fair condition at this time.

The Berrien County Accident Investigation Team is looking into the accident and is expected to provide more information at a later time.

Agencies assisting at the scene include the Berrien County Sheriff's Department, Berrien County Accident Investigation Team, Pokagon Tribal Police Department, Sister Lakes Fire Department, Pride Care Ambulance and Med Flight.
