Nappanee Police find suspect of armed robbery

NAPPANEE, Ind. – Nappanee Police have a man in custody who allegedly threatened a gas station attendant with a knife and demanded cash and cigarettes around 2:40 a.m.

NPD was called to a gas station on the 1300 block of East Market Street on a report of an armed robbery early Friday morning.

Reports said the suspect demanded cash and cigarettes from the attendant at the store. The suspect allegedly went behind the counter and pulled out a large knife.

When police arrived the suspect fled the scene.

After investigation, police located a man who they believe to be the suspect. Police took the man into custody Friday afternoon.

The suspect is being held pending a probable cause hearing.
