Multi-county pursuit ends with 2 arrests

KOSCIUSKO COUNTY, Ind. –Two people were arrested following a multi-county pursuit Saturday morning.

According to ISP, troopers were patrolling CR 900 N at approximately 12:28 a.m.

As officers approached SR 13, a maroon Mitsubishi turned onto CR 900 N crossing the center line and nearly striking the marked police car.

The Mitsubishi, driven by Timothy Criswell, 36, entered a driveway in the 7000 block of CR 900 N.

Officers turned on emergency lights as the Mitsubishi failed to stop, continuing up the driveway.

Officers say, Criswell then drove through the yard in an attempt to evade police.

Criswell allegedly threw something out of the driver side window which was later found and believed to contain methamphetamine.

The Mitsubishi continued to flee from troopers driving eastbound on CR 900 N.

The pursuit continued across county roads located on the south side of Lake Wawasee entering into Noble County.

The chase ended near the intersection of CR 300 N and Long Lake Road after the vehicle crashed into a wooden fence.

Criswell was arrested on preliminary charges of possession of a syringe, possession of paraphernalia, possession of methamphetamine, obstruction of justice, resisting law enforcement with a vehicle, reckless driving and operating while intoxicated.

Criswell was also arrested for three outstanding warrants in Noble and LaGrange Counties and taken to the Kosciusko County Jail.

The passenger, Brandi Sowers, 30, of Elkhart was also arrested on an outstanding warrant with the Goshen Police Department. Sowers was transported to the Noble County Jail.

Assisting in the pursuit was the Cromwell Police Department, Syracuse Police Department and Albion Police Department.
