Moderate/heavy snow, freezing rain, and sleet are all falling across Michiana early this morning. The NW portion will continue to see the snow through the morning, while areas south and east of South Bend should likely see a wintry mix of sleet and freezing rain, creating very slick roads. That’s why a Winter Weather Advisory stays in effect until 1 PM EST for everyone. By the afternoon, most will get a break, but snow showers are still possible. Everything will be exiting the area by sunset, snow totals of 3”-4” for NW Michiana are likely. Northern Berrien and Cass counties could see spots of 5+”. SE Michiana will pick up 1”-3” at the most, with some areas seeing <1”.
It’ll be a very cold start Monday morning but temps slowly climb through towards the 40s by Wednesday before rain and snow chances roll back in as a new front approaches.
Today: Cloudy with snow, sleet, and freezing rain this morning, changing over to snow for some in the afternoon. High of 25.
Tonight: Cloudy with snow ending, becoming mostly clear by sunrise. COLD. Low of 4.
Monday: Mostly sunny with a few more PM clouds. High of 26.
Tuesday: Mostly cloudy. Highs in the low 30s.
