Man found deceased in St. Joseph River in Elkhart identified

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind.—The body found in the St. Joseph River in Elkhart on September 10 has been identified as a 67-year-old man from Elkhart, the Elkhart County Prosecutor’s Office said Friday.
David Newman, 67, was located in the river near Lexington Avenue and Vine Street around 7:18 p.m. on Tuesday night. He was pronounced deceased.
According to the prosecutor’s office, Newman’s death has been ruled accidental and no foul play is suspected.
