SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- South Bend Police arrested a man they say was responsible for a report of shots fired in the 500 block of Birdsell Sunday evening.
Officers went to the area around 6:10 p.m. Sunday after receiving a ShotSpotter alert.
Information from community members led police to the 1600 block of W. Florence where a possible suspect entered a home, reports said.
Police surrounded the home and 28-year-old Marvin Tobar Jr was taken into custody.
Police obtained a search warrant for the home and recovered a weapon, reports said.
Tobar is facing a preliminary charge of possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon.
