MISHAWAKA, Ind - Both North Korean and South Korean leaders are met for peace talks and the local Korean community in Michiana is showing excitement about the possibility of peace between the two countries.

Sunny Kaminski, the owner of Sunny’s Korean Garden Restaurant was recently in South Korea and she says if north and south Korea reach a peace agreement it will be good for everyone

“I think that it'll be all the way around good all the way around good because they have nothing there but for the future when things start developing there's a lot of potential there” Kaminski said.

North Korea's Kim Jong-un and South Korean president Moon Jae-In had a historic meeting at the Korean Demilitarized Zone to negotiate a peace agreement between the two countries

The meeting has been planned for a while and sets the stage for a meeting with North Korea's Kim Jong-Un and President Trump

The President says he plans on meeting Kim Jong un in the upcoming months

Peace between the two countries and the united states also means families would be reunited for the first time in decades

“Yes, I hope so a deal is reached, definitely and I mean a lot of the Korean families they're separated in between and a lot of them are still heartbroken about it, so hopefully it happens soon” Kaminski said.

President Trump and North Korea’s Kim Jong Un are said to be working with their respective advisers to set a date and location for the future meeting.
