Irish drop weekend series to top ranked Clemson Tigers

NOTRE DAME, Ind. -- The University of Notre Dame baseball team was swept in a doubleheader against top ranked Clemson on Sunday afternoon.

The Fighting Irish, now 13-18, lost the entire 3-game series to the #6 Clemson Tigers after a 6-3 loss in game one and 5-2 loss in game two. The Irish did however avoid a weekend sweep with a win on Saturday.

The home field advantage proved to be little advantage on Sunday as Clemson knocked back-to-back home runs at Frank Eck Stadium to start the day.

Momentum stayed in the away dugout as the Irish could not connect at the plate.

The Irish will now head to East Lansing to face the Michigan State Spartans for a midweek game on Tuesday.
