Heat returns to start August

The heat returns this week, with 90s in the forecast again. Along with the heat the humidity soars; sweltering, steamy weather as the heat index could peak over 100.

Temperatures climb midweek upper 80 to low 90s, peaking Thursday when the heat index could reach as high as 105 degrees.

The surge of heat however will fall short of our last heat wave only lasting for about two days before cooling into the weekend.

The heat and humidity will fuel thunderstorms. The best chance coming Wednesday and Friday. Severe weather is not expected but heavy downpours are possible along with minor flooding.

Little changes in our monthly outlook. Expect temperatures to run near or above normal most of the month. This pattern should also keep the weather muggy with regular showers and storms.
