Gunshots reported all over South Bend to start 2018

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- As people all around South Bend rang in the New Year, gunshots rang out all throughout town.

Between the hours of 10:00 p.m. New Years Eve, and 6:00 a.m. New Years Day, 42 ShotSpotter activations and 16 calls for gunshots were reported.

According to officials there were 58 shots fired calls, including a home on the 600 block of North Scott Street with a bullet hole.

No shooting victims were admitted into any hospitals, but officers reportedly found 60 bullet casings throughout the night.

Officials issued no citations as no shooters or guns have been found to link to perpetrators.
