Fighting Irish Baseball win first home game of the season
NOTRE DAME, Ind. – On Friday afternoon The University of Notre Dame Fighting Irish defeated the Wake Forest Demon Deacons, 5-2, at Frank Eck Stadium.
Notre Dame, now 9-11, won the first home game of the season thanks to an impressive outing from Irish starter Scott Tully.
The Irish offense had a comfortable lead throughout the game due to a three run first inning thanks to Nick Podkul.
In his second straight start, Scott Tully tossed 6.2 innings and struck out three batters according to a press release. Nick Podkul went 4-4 with a RBI and a run scored. Podkul earned his 50th career RBI in the win.
The Irish will host the Demon Deacons again Saturday, at Frank Eck Stadium. The first pitch will be tossed at 2:05 p.m. You can watch the game on ACC Network Extra or listen in at 103.1 FM.
