FDA announces recall of dry dog food products

The FDA has recalled several dry dog food products in the US and around the world.

Sunshine Mills issued a voluntary recall of the following products:

Those who have the products should stop feeding them to pets immediately. The recall is due to potentially elevated levels of Vitamin D.

Dogs that eat the food could show symptoms like vomiting, loss of appetite, increased thirst, increased urination, excessive drooling, and weight loss.

Vitamin D at heightened levels could even cause renal dysfunction in dogs.

Consumers whose dogs have consumed the recalled food and are showing any of the symptoms should contact a vet as soon as possible.

The food affected has a Best Buy Date Code of November 1, 2019 through November 8, 2019.

Consumers can dispose of the recalled items or return it to where it was purchased for a refund.
