Driver helping a dog discovers hit and run victim's body

VAN BUREN COUNTY, Mich. -- A driver helping a dog on the side of the road discovered a body lying in the ditch on the side of M43 Monday morning.

The driver stopped along M43, just east of 37th Street, around 8:30 a.m. to help the dog and found the body of 25-year-old Keaton Dorman in the ditch. [View map]

During their investigation, the Van Buren County Sheriff's Department determined Dorman left his home around 11:30 p.m. to walk his dog.

They believe Dorman was hit between midnight and 8:30 a.m. by a gold/tan 2000 Ford Crown Victoria or Grand Marquis.

The vehicle should have front and passenger side damage.
